This support is to build your ability to connect with informal, community and funded supports enabling you to get the most out of your plan and achieve your goals.
Coordination of supports.
This support will assist you to build the skills you need to understand, implement and use your plan. A support coordinator will work with you to ensure a mix of supports are used to increase your capacity to maintain relationships, manage service delivery tasks, live more independently and be included in your community.
This is a higher level of support coordination. It is for people whose situations are more complex and who need specialist support. A specialist Support Coordinator will assist you to manage challenges in your support environment and ensuring consistent delivery of service.
Your ECEI Coordinator, LAC or NDIA planner will ask you how you would like to manage your NDIS funding during your planning meeting. They will help you choose the best way to manage your funds for your needs and circumstances.
No matter how your funds are managed, you still have choice and control to ensure your services are working for you and fit in your budget. Even if your funding is managed by the NDIA or a Plan Manager, you should regularly check the myplace portal and your funding to make sure your budgets are on track.
Please note that difference funded items may be managed differently, so it's best to check each individual funding section for the management type.
Self-management is when you manage your NDIS funding. It gives you the flexibility and choice to decide what supports you buy to meet your plan goals. It lets you think creatively about how you can use your funds to best meet your needs. You can use both registered and unregistered providers and do not need to keep costs within NDIS price guide limits.
The NDIA will provide funding in your plan to pay for a Plan Manager who pays your providers for you, helps you keep track of funds and takes care of financial reporting for you. You may use both registered and unregistered providers, but prices must not exceed the NDIS price guide limits.
The NDIA pays your providers on your behalf. You are only able to use registered providers. Fortunately we are registered for all levels of Support Coordination.
